Our Story

Founded in 1893 by Dr. Augustus Thorndike and Dr. Edward Bradford, Cotting School was the first institution in America dedicated to educating children with physical disabilities. Originally named The Industrial School for Crippled and Deformed Children, the school has evolved to serve a diverse range of students with learning and communication disabilities, physical challenges, and complex medical conditions.
