Our Story

The Cosmos Club Historic Preservation Foundation was established in 1986 to maintain and preserve the Townsend House and its historic surroundings. This commitment to stewardship ensures the legacy of the Cosmos Club’s historic building and promotes preservation in the Dupont Circle and Massachusetts Avenue neighborhood.

Impact

Thanks to generous donations, the CCHPF has prudently funded grants for the preservation and restoration of all exterior elements of the historic Townsend House. The entire exterior restoration project was completed ahead of schedule and under budget, showcasing the effectiveness of community support.
