Corbin Senior Activity Center
EIN: 91-1001680 · Spokane, WA
Our Story
In 1967, the Corbin Park Methodist Church building stood vacant, a target for vandalism. A visionary neighbor saw potential and initiated a program for seniors, leading to the establishment of the Corbin Senior Activity Center. With support from Doug Yeager and the City of Spokane, a grant was secured under the Older Americans Act, transforming the center into a vibrant hub for seniors. Over the years, the center has evolved, now serving over 901 members with a variety of activities including potlucks, arts and crafts, and educational workshops.
Impact
In 2023, the Corbin Senior Activity Center fed 8,352 families through partnerships with Feed Spokane and its own food programs. The center also launched the first app for senior centers in Spokane, achieving a perfect score of 10 out of 10 for Key Metrics on Charity Navigator, and earning a 4-Star Rating for its accountability and community impact.
