Since the early 1990s, the Cool Spring Downtown District has been at the forefront of revitalizing downtown Fayetteville. With a series of impactful projects, including the NC Veterans Park and the Airborne & Special Operations Museum, the district has successfully transformed its image into a vibrant cultural and entertainment hub. The ongoing efforts, guided by the 2019 Urban Design Associates Downtown Plan, aim to further enhance the area with a proposed $40 million Performing Arts Center and improved pedestrian-friendly streetscapes.

The Cool Spring Downtown District is supported by generous funding from the City of Fayetteville and the Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County. This partnership is dedicated to strengthening downtown as the heart of a metropolitan population of 350,000, showcasing rich architecture and cultural arts, and fostering community engagement through various events and activities.
