Transforming Lives with Clean Cookstoves

The Cookstove Project was founded in 2013 by Rebecca Sommer, who was moved by the alarming health risks posed by open fires in cooking. With a mission to improve the lives of women and children, the project built its first cookstove in Nabiswere, Uganda, which continues to thrive today. This initiative has expanded to Nepal, where over 6,000 clean cookstoves have been installed, positively impacting more than 135,000 lives.

Making a Lasting Impact

With over 27,000 stoves built, The Cookstove Project is dedicated to providing access to clean cooking solutions, significantly reducing health risks associated with indoor air pollution.
