Our Story

Founded in 1988 by Sister Jean Thuerauf, Cookie Cart began as a simple initiative to engage neighborhood youth in baking and education. Over the years, it has transformed into two thriving commercial bakeries, providing invaluable job experience and leadership skills to hundreds of teens in North Minneapolis.

With an impressive 85% of alumni employed three years after graduation, Cookie Cart significantly outperforms the local average. The program focuses on developing essential skills such as critical thinking, goal orientation, and community connectedness.
