Our Story
Founded in 1982, Converse Animal Shelter Inc. (Casi) has been a beacon of hope for countless dogs and cats in the San Antonio area. As one of the first no-kill shelters, Casi was established on land generously donated by George Ammeman, fueled by the dedication of volunteers and community support. Over the years, more than 20,000 abandoned, sick, and lost animals have found refuge and new homes through our gates.
