The Contra Costa County Historical Society was established in 1951 by civic leaders Louis Stein and Judge A.F. Bray, who recognized the importance of preserving the historical underpinnings of Contra Costa County. With a collection of over 300,000 records, photos, maps, and other historical documents, the society serves as an irreplaceable resource for the community.
