Our Story
The journey of Continental Baptist Missions began in the rugged terrain of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, where a dedicated group of pioneers, led by Rev. and Mrs. Arthur Glen, recognized the pressing needs of fellow missionaries. In 1942, their vision materialized with the establishment of Hiawatha Land Independent Baptist Missions, aimed at supporting those laboring under challenging conditions. Over the decades, this mission has evolved, changing its name to Continental Baptist Missions in 1982 to reflect its growth beyond Northern Michigan. Today, the landscape is enriched with vibrant, independent Baptist churches, a testament to the unwavering spirit of those early pioneers.
