In November 2000, a heartfelt conversation between Debra Nicholas and Buddy Doebbler sparked the creation of Construct A Kid’s Christmas. This nonprofit organization was established to bring joy to forgotten children in the foster care system during the holiday season. Since its inception, the organization has successfully organized annual Toy Drives, raising over $1,200,000 and collecting more than 33,000 toys for children in Bexar County.
Over the past 24 years, Construct A Kid’s Christmas has made a significant impact by ensuring that every child in foster care receives at least one gift during Christmas, along with ongoing advocacy throughout the year.
