Founded in 1972, The Conservation Foundation is one of the region’s oldest and largest not-for-profit land and watershed conservation organizations.

With the support of over 5,000 members and 500 volunteers, The Conservation Foundation has preserved more than 35,000 acres of open space in northeastern Illinois. This vital work improves the health of communities by protecting rivers and promoting environmental stewardship.
