Connections for the Homeless is dedicated to empowering families like Allen's to achieve stable housing and reunite with their children. Allen faced significant challenges due to chronic health issues, which made it difficult for him to maintain stable employment. In 2019, he received heartbreaking news that his son would need to enter the foster care system due to a lack of stable housing. With the support of Connections, Allen found a one-bedroom apartment, improved his credit, and was able to host his son for visits. In summer 2023, Allen secured a two-bedroom apartment, allowing his son to move in with him. Today, Allen Jr. is thriving as a freshman in high school, playing football and excelling academically.
