Our Story

Founded in March 2020 by two passionate students from Walter Payton High School, Connecting Chicago is on a mission to combat educational inequity. This student-led nonprofit is the largest of its kind in Chicago, providing free virtual 1:1 tutoring for students from Kindergarten through 12th grade.

In just our first year, Connecting Chicago has successfully tutored over 850 students from diverse neighborhoods across the city. Our dedicated volunteers, who are current high school, undergraduate, or graduate students, are trained to deliver high-quality instruction in various subjects including Math, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, and foreign languages.
