Our Story

The Connecticut Worker Center (CWC) began in 2012 as the Brazilian Worker Center of Bridgeport, evolving into an independent organization in 2019. With a focus on supporting immigrant workers, particularly domestic workers, CWC advocates for their rights and provides essential education and leadership training.

Our Impact

CWC has successfully advocated for labor rights for Connecticut’s 55,000 domestic workers, including the passage of the Domestic Workers Bill of Rights. The organization empowers its members through training and support, fostering a strong community of activists.
