Our Story

Connecticut Veterans Legal Center (CVLC) was founded by Howard Udell and Margaret Middleton as the first Medical-Legal Partnership embedded in a VA Healthcare setting in the country. Starting with a volunteer lawyer at the Errera Center, CVLC has grown to address the legal needs of veterans, empowering them to overcome barriers to housing, healthcare, income, and recovery.

CVLC profoundly impacts the lives of over 1,500 Connecticut veterans each year, providing free legal services that help them thrive and contribute to their communities with dignity.
