Our Story

The Congressional Women’s Softball Game began in 2009, initiated by Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Rep. Jo Ann Emerson, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, and Sen. Susan Collins. This event was born from a personal battle against breast cancer, uniting women Members of Congress with female campaign staff and later the Washington, D.C. press corps. Over the years, this friendly rivalry has transformed into a powerful fundraising event, raising over $3.7 million for the Young Survival Coalition (YSC), a vital organization supporting young adults diagnosed with breast cancer.

Impact

With over $3.7 million raised, the Congressional Women’s Softball Game has significantly impacted the lives of young adults facing breast cancer, providing essential resources and community support.
