The Confraternity of Penitents is a modern adaptation of the original Franciscan Third Order, established to help lay people live a religious Rule of Life as closely as possible to its original intent from 1221. Recognized by the Bishop of Fort Wayne-South Bend, this private association of the faithful focuses on a life of prayer, penance, and service.
