Our Story

Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) was founded in 1984 by a group of 110 individuals who shared a common bond of loss. Today, the organization has grown to over 50,000 members, including spouses, children, and co-workers of officers who have died in the line of duty. With over 50 chapters across the nation, C.O.P.S. is governed by a national board of law enforcement survivors dedicated to providing essential resources and support.

Impact

C.O.P.S. plays a crucial role in helping families and co-workers cope with the loss of their loved ones. Through various programs, including the National Police Survivors’ Conference and peer support initiatives, the organization fosters healing and resilience among survivors.
