Our Story

In 1999, a group of passionate traditional bowhunters gathered at the Pope and Young Club Awards Banquet to discuss the formation of a dedicated organization. Inspired by Glenn St. Charles' article in Traditional Bowhunter Magazine, these individuals sought to create a distinct identity for traditional archery enthusiasts. This led to the establishment of Compton Traditional Bowhunters, officially formed on November 29, 1999. The organization is committed to promoting traditional archery, educating the public, and investing in youth programs.

Impact

Since its inception, Compton Traditional Bowhunters has empowered young people by teaching them the art of traditional archery. Each year, the organization hosts a shooting class at the Rendezvous, attracting around 200 youngsters annually. Through its Youth Program, thousands of bows, arrows, and shooting equipment have been donated to clubs and individuals nationwide, fostering a love for traditional archery.
