Compasio: Empowering Communities for Child Advocacy

Compasio began its impactful journey in Thailand, in a small town bordering Myanmar, where the stories of vulnerable women and children became the foundation of its mission. For over 11 years, a dedicated team of Thai and Burmese nationals worked tirelessly to strengthen families affected by domestic violence, poverty, and substance abuse. Through innovative methods, Compasio arranged family-based alternative care for children without safe homes and established an emergency shelter that became a provincial model for victims of violence and trafficking.

In addition to providing immediate support, Compasio developed a preschool for struggling families and a vocational program for local teens, successfully reintegrating children from its homes into family-based care. This grassroots approach empowered the community to make healthier choices and inspired the question: "How many more children could be reached by empowering local efforts worldwide?" By late 2018, Compasio rebranded to focus on building the inspiring work of locally-led child-advocacy partners globally.
