Our Story

Community Water Center was co-founded by Laurel Firestone and Susana De Anda in 2006, evolving from the Rural Poverty Water Project. This organization addresses the critical issue of unsafe drinking water in California's San Joaquin Valley, particularly in low-income communities.

Impact

CWC has successfully advocated for the Human Right to Water law in California, ensuring that safe drinking water is recognized as a fundamental human right. The organization has connected over 750 homes to safe drinking water and secured over $1.4 billion in funding for disadvantaged communities.
