Our Story
For over thirty years, Community Soup Bowl has been a beacon of hope for the hungry in Tuscaloosa. Founded in 1983, the Soup Bowl began as a small initiative, serving soup made in a church kitchen. As the need grew, so did the community's support. In 1998, a new building was established, allowing for on-site meal preparation and an expanded menu. Today, the Soup Bowl operates every day of the week, thanks to the dedication of local churches, youth groups, and volunteers who come together to serve those in need.
