Our Story

The Community Project, founded by Colleen Kaleda and Angélique Kidd Smith, collaborates with Engineers and Architects Without Borders to create educational and economic opportunities in Debre Birhan, Ethiopia. This initiative focuses on building a Kindergarten to 8th Grade School, a Community Center, and sustainable agricultural projects.

Impact

With the completion of two classroom buildings, The Community Project currently serves 285 students, including kindergarteners and first to third graders. A third classroom building is underway to accommodate fourth to seventh graders, ensuring education is accessible to all, especially girls.
