The Community Nutrition Network and Senior Services Association (CNNSSA) has been dedicated to combating senior hunger since its inception in the 1970s. Originally a meal service program under the Community Economic & Development Association, CNNSSA became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2000 to address the growing needs of older adults. With the establishment of the Meals on Wheels Foundation of Northern Illinois in 2001, CNNSSA expanded its outreach and fundraising efforts, ensuring that seniors in Cook, Kendall, Grundy, and Will Counties receive the support they need.
