Community Montessori School opened its doors in Lexington, Kentucky in 1970, founded by a dedicated group of parents seeking quality Montessori education for their children. Starting with a single preschool classroom in a church basement, the school has significantly expanded its offerings, now providing programs from toddler through 8th grade. With a strong community focus, parents have played an active role in the school's growth, contributing to facility development and educational initiatives. Today, CMS is an AMI accredited institution, committed to the Montessori method.
