Our Story
In the early 1990s, Barbara Burke Fondren and Glenn Fondren sought a better educational option for their children in New Albany, Indiana. Inspired by the Montessori method, they founded Community Montessori in 1998 as a private, non-profit organization. The school has since evolved, becoming a charter school in 2011, and now serves families from ages 0 to 18.
Impact
Community Montessori has grown from 59 learners to over 600, providing a tuition-free education while maintaining a waitlist of over 100 children. The school emphasizes holistic development, preparing students for lifelong success.
