Community Kitchen of Monroe County, Inc. was founded in 1983 by compassionate women from local churches who recognized the urgent need for food assistance in Bloomington. What began as a small operation serving meals three days a week has blossomed into a vital community resource, providing over 270,000 meals annually to those in need. CK operates six days a week, ensuring that no one in Monroe County goes hungry.

CK is dedicated to addressing food insecurity without any eligibility requirements. The organization not only serves nutritious meals but also runs programs like Backpack Buddies and the Summer Food Service Program, specifically designed to support at-risk children and homebound seniors.
