Since its inception in 1989, the Community Housing Services Agency (CHSA) has been at the forefront of revitalizing neighborhoods in Savannah, Georgia. Established in response to the alarming rise of blighted properties, CHSA was formed through a collaborative effort between the City of Savannah, local banks, and community leaders. The vision was clear: to transform deteriorating homes into affordable housing opportunities that foster stable communities.

Over the years, CHSA has evolved, expanding its reach and impact. In 2023, the organization proudly extended its services to all of Chatham County, furthering its mission to provide critical assistance to low-income families. With a dedicated board of directors composed of finance professionals and housing experts, CHSA has successfully developed partnerships with lenders, developers, and property owners to create sustainable housing solutions.

In 2023 alone, CHSA leveraged an impressive $8.33 for every dollar invested in its initiatives, demonstrating the effectiveness of its programs. With 956 individuals receiving services, 179 housing units created or retained, and 668 people receiving technical assistance, the impact of CHSA's work is profound and far-reaching.
