Our Story

Community House Mental Health Agency began in the late 1960s as a lounge for former psychiatric patients, initiated by the Capitol Hill Methodist Church. In 1976, it became an independent nonprofit and has since expanded its services significantly, becoming a recognized Community Mental Health Services provider in 1986. Today, CHMHA provides a supportive atmosphere for adults with severe and persistent mental illness, focusing on enhancing their social, vocational, and life skills.
