Our Story

The Mary Mahoney Memorial Health Center has been a cornerstone of healthcare in Northeastern Oklahoma County since 1973. Established in the historic Dunjee High School building, this nonprofit facility honors Mary Eliza Mahoney, the first black professional nurse in the United States. Spearheaded by five dedicated women from the community, the center now serves over 16,000 individuals annually, offering essential medical, dental, and social services.

Impact

Since 1999, the center has provided vital healthcare services to over 2,000 homeless individuals, including infants, children, youth, and adults. Through programs like Healthcare for the Homeless and Healing Hands Health Services, the center addresses the needs of underserved populations.
