Our Story

The Community Health Center, Inc. was founded in 1972 by passionate community activists and Wesleyan University students to tackle the lack of healthcare services for underserved populations. Starting from a modest apartment in Middletown, Connecticut, CHC has grown to operate 16 primary care hubs and over 200 service locations, delivering comprehensive medical, dental, and behavioral health services to more than 145,000 patients.

Impact

Since the onset of the pandemic, CHC has served 730,000 individuals across Connecticut, administering 660,000 COVID-19 tests and providing 550,000 vaccinations. The organization remains committed to prioritizing care for the most vulnerable populations, ensuring access to essential health services during these challenging times.
