Our Story
Founded in 1988 by a group of concerned Staten Islanders, Community Health Action of Staten Island (CHASI) began as the Staten Island AIDS Task Force. Over the years, the organization has evolved to meet the diverse needs of the community, expanding its services to include substance use recovery, domestic violence intervention, and health education. In 2004, the organization rebranded to reflect its broader mission and joined Brightpoint Health in 2015, which later merged with Hudson River Health Care to form Sun River Health, enhancing its capacity to provide comprehensive health services.
Impact
In 2022, CHASI served 19,000 individuals through essential programs, significantly improving health outcomes in Staten Island.
