Our Story

Over twenty years ago, a group of seven visionaries came together to establish the Community Foundation of West Georgia. Their mission was clear: to enhance the community and facilitate impactful giving. A pivotal moment arose when a local donor challenged the Foundation to raise $4 million by spring 2003, promising a $3 million match. In just six months, this ambitious goal was achieved, setting the stage for a legacy of generosity. Today, the Foundation has granted over $112 million to more than 240 nonprofits across Carroll, Haralson, and Heard counties, far exceeding initial expectations.
