The Community Family was founded in 1978 by concerned families and professionals who recognized the need for community-based alternatives to nursing home care. The Everett Center, one of Massachusetts’ first adult day health centers, quickly showcased the effectiveness and affordability of adult day health care. In 1981, TCF opened one of the nation’s first Alzheimer’s adult day health programs in Medford, providing high-quality care in a home-like environment.
Since its inception, TCF has kept thousands of elders, adults with disabilities, and those with memory loss safe and healthy in their communities. Serving over 140 individuals daily across three centers, TCF ensures participants receive essential services that allow them to remain in their homes.
