Our Story

The Community Crisis Center, located in Elgin, Illinois, was founded in 1975 by dedicated volunteers to support individuals and families facing crises. As one of the oldest domestic violence shelters in Illinois, it played a pivotal role in establishing both the Illinois and National Coalition Against Domestic Violence.

Impact

Last year, the center assisted 1,089 households, providing 47,610 meals and 707 coats to 257 families. Additionally, 400 households received 55,838 diapers, and eviction prevention efforts helped 58 households maintain their homes.
