Our Story

Founded in 1971, the Community Council of Idaho began as the Idaho Migrant Council, addressing the urgent need for safe childcare for agricultural workers. The first Migrant and Seasonal Head Start center opened in Weiser, Idaho, providing educational opportunities for children. Over the years, the organization expanded its services to include employment training, affordable housing, legal assistance, and healthcare, officially becoming the Community Council of Idaho in 2006.

Impact

The Community Council of Idaho has transformed the lives of low-income agricultural families by offering essential services. Millions in federal funding have been secured to support programs that empower these communities, ensuring access to vital resources.
