Our Story

In 1990, a group of passionate activists, summoned by Mayor Karen Bass, united to combat the devastating health crisis caused by the crack-cocaine epidemic in South Los Angeles. Recognizing the need for community involvement in creating real solutions, the Community Coalition was born. For over three decades, this organization has been dedicated to elevating voices and empowering residents to address the root causes of poverty, crime, and violence.
