Our Story
In 1975, a dedicated group of community members came together to save the WOW Hall from potential demolition. Through the innovative WOWATHON fundraising event, they successfully purchased the Hall, ensuring it remained a community-owned venue. Over the years, the Community Center for the Performing Arts has faced challenges but has thrived thanks to unwavering community support, paying off the Hall’s mortgage in 1983 and earning historic landmark status in 1996.
