Founded in the Petworth neighborhood of Washington, D.C., Community Carrot emerged as a vital response to chronic youth underemployment. Listening to over 200 community members, the co-founders recognized the need for an entrepreneurship program that would provide young adults from multi-generational poverty with a pathway to the workforce.
To date, 40 businesses have been launched through the Carrot program, with every participant receiving their business license, empowering them to thrive.
