Community Caregivers

Our Story

Founded in 1994 in Altamont, NY, Community Caregivers, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to enabling individuals of all ages to maintain their independence, dignity, and quality of life within their homes and communities. With the support of a grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the organization was developed using the Parish Nurse Program as a model. Community Caregivers provides essential non-medical support services to residents in Albany County, including Guilderland, Bethlehem, New Scotland, Berne, Knox, and Rensselaer County.

Impact

In the past five years, Community Caregivers volunteers have dedicated approximately 17,658 hours of service to nearly 1,161 clients, making a significant difference in the lives of those in need.
