Communities of Color Coalition
EIN: 42-1697145 · Edmonds, WA
Our Story
In the summer of 2000, leaders from diverse communities of color came together to form the Communities of Color Coalition (C3). This initiative was born out of a need to address the pressing issues highlighted by Census 2000, which revealed significant demographic changes in Snohomish County. By 2004, increasing media attention on bias incidents underscored the necessity of C3's mission. Since being granted 501(c)(3) status in December 2005, C3 has grown into a vital network advocating for the rights and empowerment of under-represented groups.
Our Impact
The mission of C3 is to educate and advocate for social justice and human rights, particularly for people of color and other marginalized communities. Through a transformational process, C3 centers the voices of those most affected by systemic oppression, enabling them to develop and implement effective solutions for lasting change.
