Our Story

Communities In Schools South Central Texas, established over 30 years ago by the Greater New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce, is dedicated to empowering K-12 students for success in school and beyond. As the only campus-based nonprofit program for vulnerable students in the region, CIS currently impacts over 42,000 students across 60 schools. Our comprehensive services include supportive guidance, mental health intervention, basic life needs support, tutoring, and college preparation assistance, reaching over 4,000 students daily through professional site coordinators.
