Our Story

Communities First Initiative began its journey in 1994 as Trenton First, Inc., with a mission to empower the City of Trenton through community-based programs, scholarships, and initiatives focused on youth and literacy. Over the years, the organization evolved, recognizing the broader needs of communities, leading to its rebranding as Communities First Initiative, Inc. This name reflects a commitment to a holistic approach, serving low- and moderate-income residents across all age groups and backgrounds, including veterans through Vet B-Well, LLC.

Our Impact

CFI has positively impacted over 400 families, created 300 jobs in construction, and facilitated over $100 million in investments, contributing to the development of more than 300 units in high-impact communities.
