Common Ground Center

Our Story
Common Ground Center began as a simple idea: a family camp where creativity and community thrive. Founded by Peg Kamens and Jim Mendell, the vision was to create a space where families could engage in enriching activities while enjoying healthy food that accommodates diverse diets. After visiting various family camps and gathering a community of talented teachers and friends, the first Camp Common Ground was born in 1994. Since then, it has blossomed into a vibrant organization with a year-round facility in Starksboro, Vermont, serving families from over 29 states and 11 countries.
Our Impact
Common Ground Center is committed to fostering environmental sustainability and strengthening diverse families and communities.
