Our Story

Founded in 1988, the Committee on the Shelterless (COTS) emerged from the compassion of two local residents, Laure Reichek and Mary Isaak, who were deeply concerned about the plight of individuals sleeping outdoors in unsafe conditions. Through fundraising, community education, and partnerships with local organizations, COTS has evolved into a vital resource for those experiencing homelessness. Today, COTS offers a range of temporary shelter and permanent housing programs, ensuring that every individual is treated with dignity and respect.

Our Impact

Last year, COTS supported 563 unsheltered individuals and successfully housed 264 people. The organization’s programs are designed with a deep understanding of homelessness, focusing on evidence-based practices that prioritize care and inclusivity.
