About CADA

Established in 1979, the Committee Against Domestic Abuse Inc (CADA) emerged from the grassroots efforts of local women dedicated to combating domestic violence. With the opening of its first shelter in 1981, CADA has been a beacon of hope for victims in the Mankato area. Over the years, as the need for services expanded, CADA grew to serve a nine-county region in south-central Minnesota, operating seven advocacy offices and a dedicated emergency safety shelter.

Impact of CADA

Each year, CADA provides free, confidential, and non-judgmental support to between 2,000 and 3,000 individuals affected by relationship abuse and sexual violence.
