Our Story

Established in 1982, COMEA (Cooperative Ministry for Emergency Assistance) was created to address the urgent needs of the homeless in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Initially formed by local churches overwhelmed by transients seeking help, COMEA has transformed from a basic shelter into a holistic support system. Today, it offers emergency shelter, meals, case management, and transitional housing, empowering individuals and families to achieve independence.

Impact

In its first decade, COMEA sheltered nearly 20,000 individuals and provided over 21,000 meals in just one year. The organization continues to expand its services, focusing on case management and educational programs that facilitate community reintegration.
