The Columbus Music Commission (CMC) was established in 2016 by passionate community members dedicated to nurturing local music talent in the greater Columbus area. With a diverse Board of Directors comprising musicians, educators, and community leaders, CMC aims to foster artistic growth and community engagement. Since receiving 501(c)(3) status in 2016, CMC has developed educational programs, career initiatives, and performance opportunities for youth and aspiring musicians.
CMC has made a significant impact by donating over $400,000 worth of instruments to students, providing paid performance opportunities for over 35 emerging musicians, and placing 33 young people in paid internships within the music industry.
