The Columbia Choral Society was established with a commitment to serve the community through music. Originally formed as the Shandon Choral Society in 1930 for a Community Chest Drive contest, it quickly evolved to represent the entire city of Columbia. With a mission to stimulate and broaden interest in good music, the society has grown from 40 to over 100 talented voices, performing significant choral works and hosting an annual spring music festival featuring professional orchestras and soloists.
