Our Story

Since 2009, aMuse’um has been a beacon of creativity and learning for children in Maury County and the greater Nashville area. Initiated by passionate volunteers, the museum was born from a community need for a dedicated family destination that fosters educational growth and provides a safe space for children to explore and play. After a successful pilot program, aMuse’um opened its doors in 2011, transforming downtown Columbia into a vibrant hub for families.

With over 80,000 visitors to date, aMuse’um has become more than just a museum; it is a gathering place for families, an educational venue, and a vital contributor to the local economy. The museum’s commitment to accessibility is evident through its distribution of over 14,000 free day passes and partnerships with organizations like the Boys & Girls Club and Kings Daughters Center for Autism.

aMuse’um has significantly enriched the lives of children and families in Columbia. By attracting visitors to the downtown area, the museum not only enhances educational opportunities but also stimulates local businesses, creating a ripple effect of economic growth.
